*EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE:

1. Foreigners who are temporarily residing in Vietnam and wish to extend their temporary residence must request the inviting, guaranteeing agencies, organizations and individuals to carry out the procedures at the immigration management agency or competent agencies. of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

2. Inviting, guaranteeing agencies, organizations and individuals specified in Clause 1 of this Article shall directly send written requests for extension of temporary residence enclosed with passports or valuable papers of international travel of foreigners. at the competent agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the cases prescribed in Clauses 1, 2, 3 and 4, Article 8 of this Law, and the immigration management agency for the cases prescribed in Clause 1 Article 16 of this Law.

3. Within 5 working days after receiving a complete dossier, the immigration management agency or the competent agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall consider extending the temporary residence.

* CARD ISSUE AND CARD MARKS:

1. Foreigners being members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, representative offices of international organizations affiliated to the United Nations, intergovernmental organizations in Vietnam and their spouses, children under 18 years of age , maids accompanying term are granted temporary residence card with symbol NG3.

2. Foreigners who are granted visas with the symbols LV1, LV2, ĐT, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LD, TT are considered for temporary residence cards with symbols similar to the visa symbols.

* DOSSIERS OF APPLICATION FOR ISSUE OF TEMPORARY RESIDENCE CARDS:

1. A dossier of application for a temporary residence card comprises:

a) The written request of the agency, organization or individual carrying out the procedures for invitation and guarantee;

b) Declaration of temporary residence card with photo;

c) Passport;

d) Papers evidencing the cases prescribed in Article 36 of this Law.

2. Processing and granting of temporary residence cards are as follows:

a) Diplomatic missions, consular offices or other authorized agencies of foreign countries in Vietnam send applications for temporary residence card with the symbol NG3 at the competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

b) Inviting or guaranteeing agencies, organizations and individuals shall directly submit applications for temporary residence cards to foreigners in the cases specified in Clause 2, Article 36 of this Law at immigration management agencies. places where the inviting or guaranteeing agencies or organizations are headquartered or where the individuals invite or guarantee their residence;

c) Within 05 working days from the day on which the satisfactory application is received, the immigration authority or the competent authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall consider granting a temporary residence card.

* DURATION OF TEMPORARY CARD CARD:

1. The validity of the temporary residence card is valid for at least 30 days shorter than the rest of the passport.

2. Temporary residence cards with symbols NG3, LV1, LV2, ĐT and DH are valid for no more than 05 years.

3. Temporary residence cards with symbols NN1, NN2, TT are valid for not more than 03 years.

4. Temporary residence cards with the symbol LD and PV1 are valid for no more than 2 years.

5. Expired temporary residence cards are considered for granting new cards.
